Dr. Archana Shrestha is a dynamic Associate Professor at Kathmandu University of Medical Sciences (KUSMS), making significant strides in the field of public health research and implementation science. Her wealth of experience and academic prowess positions her as a valuable asset for any Clinical Research Organization (CRO) aiming to excel in the design and execution of impactful healthcare interventions.

As the Executive Director of the Institute for Implementation Science and Health, Dr. Shrestha has been instrumental in shaping strategic initiatives and fostering collaborations to advance implementation science in Nepal. Her part-time role involves overseeing the implementation of evidence-based interventions, emphasizing the translation of research into practical solutions to address public health challenges.

Dr. Shrestha’s commitment to academic excellence is reflected in her full-time position as an Associate Professor at Kathmandu University (KU). In this capacity, she plays a pivotal role in teaching and mentoring Master of Science in Public Health candidates, contributing to a dynamic learning environment that emphasizes the application of research to solve public health problems.

With a global perspective, Dr. Shrestha serves as an Assistant Professor Adjunct at Yale School of Public Health, collaborating with local partners at Kathmandu University and contributing to research coordination and data collection. Her role extends to training various stakeholders, including research coordinators, cafeteria staff, and health educators, ensuring the seamless execution of lifestyle interventions and the production of high-quality data.

Dr. Shrestha’s international exposure includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University, where she worked on a worksite-based diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevention program in India. She demonstrated her expertise in study design, project management, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Additionally, she conducted a pilot study in Nepal to prevent diabetes in the worksite, showcasing her commitment to innovative and impactful research.

Her academic journey includes a Graduate Research Assistantship at the University of Washington, where she excelled in teaching and research, earning recognition through awards such as the prestigious Weston Award and Fulbright Student Scholarship Award. Dr. Shrestha’s dedication to academic excellence was further underscored by a Certificate of Merit presented by BP Koirala Institute of Health Science, Nepal.
